With the addition of group classes, recovery amenities, and a high end training space this gym truly has it all. If you are looking for an adventurous activity to switch up your routine, give BKBX a try!

What is BKBX?

BKBX is a new training concept created by Brooklyn Boulders. Brooklyn Boulders first opened in 2009 with a mission to create a community of climbers in New York when there weren't many options for climbing in the city. Since then they have succeeded in fostering a welcoming community that supports one another as they climb towards their goals both in and out of the gym. They have recently expanded to the Boston area with a location in Somerville and a BKBX location in Allston!

BKBX is a one-of-a-kind fitness facility that combines elements of adventure sports with the latest in fitness and technology. Smart training, data-driven classes, and state of the art recovery amenities, help members achieve their fitness goals so they are prepared for any adventure. BKBX in Allston specializes in their HIIT based workout classes. These classes consist of such a variety of activities, you’ll get a great balanced workout while never feeling bored! Some of these activities include jumping, speed training, obstacle course racing, climbing, strength work, and yoga.

A Glimpse into the Gym Itself

211 Western Ave, Allston, MA 02134

The BKBX location in Allston provides a luxury gym experience. The training studio is filled with high end equipment to make your workouts as smooth and efficient as possible. Additionally the creative lighting and modern look makes working out here feel as though you’re in a video game. A recovery room is supplied with amenities including cryotherapy and an infrared sauna. This allows for optimal restoration after your workout is complete. Finally, this gym wouldn’t be a part of Brooklyn Boulders without a climbing wall! A massive bouldering wall is available for anyone that is looking to take their fitness to new heights.

While this location is currently closed and has been since the pandemic, they are hopeful of reopening in the very near future! In the meantime they have online fitness classes available so you can still work with the incredible instructors from the comfort of your own home. We encourage you to keep an eye out for any news of this incredible gym reopening so you can take advantage of the amazing facilities for yourself!

Conclusion

BKBX has so much to offer adventurous Bostonians! While we were sad to see that they are currently closed, their reopening will be highly anticipated.
